It's football season (so we're bringing the apps) πŸŽ‰

A square cracker sits in a container of hot boudin dip

Hello Reader!

College football season is officially underway this weekend! 🏈 And I'm dropping you a line on Friday because I wanted you to have these recipes before we go into the weekend.

So whether you're a diehard fan or just someone who's at the tailgate or game for the snacks, I have recipes for you. (Always. Forever.)

Which one sounds best?

Classic Dips to Share:

  1. Hot Corn Dip: This is a nod to a dip that one of my cousins always brought to family functions. It comes together easily and is great for any type of gameday gathering. (We're talking in-person tailgate or at home. You are welcome.)
  2. JalapeΓ±o Popper Dip: Like the poppers we all know and love, but without the fuss of actually making and stuffing said poppers. All you do is mix everything together and bake to perfection.
  3. Buffalo Chicken Dip: The classic dip... but with rotisserie chicken instead of the canned variety. Whenever we have this in our house, I cannot stop eating it. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
  4. Hot Caramelized Onion Dip: I wanted to make a dip to celebrate the deliciousness of caramelized onions. This one has some serious French onion vibes... but in dip form. If you love these flavors, too, you're in for a treat.

TexMex Flavors:

  1. Roasted Tomato Salsa: I know that we can buy any old salsa from the store... but homemade salsa feels like something special. Use your tomato harvest (or a big bag from the farmer's market) to make this one.
  2. Caramelized Onion Guacamole: We make this for every gathering we host, and it is always the first thing gone. The combination of the quick balsamic caramelized onions and avocado is spectacular.
  3. Loaded Queso: A nod to a beloved dip here in Texas, this combines meaty queso with sour cream and classic guac. It's decadent, but decadence is always welcome on gameday.

Straight from the Bayou:

  1. Baked Boudin Balls: Like the Louisiana classic, but no frying necessary. This one takes time and effort, but it is really fun for a gathering. Make the boudin balls well ahead of time to save yourself stress of forming, rolling and baking them with guests arriving.
  2. Hot Crawfish Dip: If you love crawfish, this is a tasty way to serve them at a football-related gathering. You'll need a package of peeled crawfish tails and some other easy-to-find ingredients to mix and assemble this goodness.
  3. Boudin Board: It's kind of like a charcuterie board... but with boudin instead of the traditional cured meats. All you do is cook the boudin, assemble and dig in.
  4. Hot Boudin Dip: This one requires you to remove fresh boudin from its casing and mix it into a combination of cheeses to make the most decadent, meaty dip.

Here's to a fantastic first weekend of college football! I hope that one of these appetizers speaks to you and that you can enjoy it this weekend.

Happy cooking,
Erin
